DAISY SWIDERSKA
Daisy Swiderska creates ceramics in North Cornwall, on the edge of Bodmin Moor. She studied art and design foundation at Falmouth and ceramic design at Central St Martins.
Daisy is drawn to clay as a medium because of its therapeutic and healing nature, a creative expression that is grounding in itself as it itself is the ground.
The wild pallets and movement of the traditional pottery and costumes of Spain are core themes in her work.
These Oliva candlesticks are inspired by the giant olive jars of southern Spain. The lines around each pot are traditionally designed to prevent bugs climbing up. The pieces high fired stoneware, thrown on the wheel and hand turned.
These Agüita Jugs (meaning little water) are porcelain and made to be used. They are meant to be a sensory experience to touch and seem alive with waves as they gaze at you from the kitchen table.
